SelectFlorida announced that Florida-based companies participated in the 2026 Singapore Airshow, generating more than $152.4 million in export sales. This achievement highlighted the strong international demand for Florida’s aviation, aerospace, and defense products and services. The Singapore Airshow is recognized as one of the world’s leading aerospace and defense events, bringing together global leaders, innovators, and decision-makers.
According to SelectFlorida President and CEO Matt Swanson, Florida’s aerospace, aviation, and defense companies demonstrated a strong presence in Singapore, producing significant economic outcomes that support continued expansion into international markets. He stated that SelectFlorida’s mission is to support the long-term success of Florida’s business community by fostering new trade relationships, expanding export opportunities, and strengthening key industries such as aerospace and aviation, ultimately contributing to the state’s economy and creating opportunities for a highly skilled workforce.
Nine Florida companies participated in the 2026 Singapore Airshow as part of the Florida Pavilion, with six companies receiving trade grants to support their international outreach efforts. Participation in the event provided these companies with increased visibility and helped create new export opportunities, particularly in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services for both military and commercial sectors. Collectively, the companies generated more than 100 new trade leads, paving the way for continued economic growth and long-term international partnerships.
Representatives from participating companies shared positive feedback regarding the event. Ray Deptula of US Aviation Training Solutions explained that the company attended the Singapore Airshow after recognizing the benefits of participating in the Dubai Airshow under previous ownership. The event enabled the company to reconnect with potential local representatives needed to pursue business opportunities in the region. He also emphasized that the booth grant was essential in making participation possible.
Representatives from Irvin Technologies Inc., doing business as ITI Engineering, described the Singapore Airshow as the busiest event their military electronics business had experienced in five years. The company reported direct meetings with senior officials from Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea, as well as new opportunities involving multiple defense platforms, including the F-35, F-15, F-16, AH-64, and UAVs. The company also praised the strategic location of the SelectFlorida booth and highlighted the professionalism and support provided by SelectFlorida regarding booth arrangements, setup, and shipping.
The DISTI Corporation also highlighted the importance of SelectFlorida’s support. The company noted that while it continues to grow its international software business, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, marketing budgets remain challenging for a smaller business. Through a grant from SelectFlorida and assistance from the SelectFlorida team, DISTI was able to participate in a major regional event for Southeast Asia, where the company met with existing customers and prospective clients. As a result of discussions held during the show, DISTI expects to secure significant new business opportunities within the coming year, contributing to job creation in Orlando, Florida, and supporting the company’s continued growth.
