What Africa needs most in the next 24 months at AFRIDEX 2026
ASIM, Oct 27
This morning’s Strategic Conference panel at AFRIDEX 2026 turned to one of the most pressing questions facing the continent’s armed forces, namely what Africa needs most in the next 24 months.
Major General Davidson Fayiah Forleh, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia, joined moderator Major General (rtd.) Anthony Mayowa Atolagbe, Consultant and Research Fellow at CPROTEC Security Ltd, to examine the capability gaps that most urgently demand attention.
The discussion considered how near-term priorities should be set, and how procurement and deployment can be accelerated so that capability reaches the forces that need it. It brought an operational perspective to a question that sits at the heart of this year’s programme, linking national requirements to the partnerships and industrial pathways able to meet them.
The Strategic Conference continues throughout the day in the Plenary.
