On Day Two of the Farnborough International Airshow, UK trade association ADS Group and the Society of Japanese Aerospace Companies (SJAC) signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen defense industrial collaboration.
Signed during the official UK-Japan Defence Industry Dialogue, the agreement creates a strategic framework to enhance joint R&D, supply chain integration, and industry-to-government engagement between both nations.
🔑 Key Strategic Highlights:
- Industrial Synergy: Bridges UK aerospace and defense expertise with Japan’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.
- Geopolitical Foundation: Builds upon the 2023 Reciprocal Access Agreement and the 2024 Hiroshima Accord.
- Defense Capability Development: Accelerates joint innovation across aerospace, security, and space sectors, supporting major international programs like GCAP.
“The long-standing partnership between the United Kingdom and Japan across the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors is deeply entrenched… This MoU marks another important milestone in that partnership.”
