Textron Aviation expands global training reach with order of ten Cessna Skyhawks from Egyptian Aviation Academy at FIA26

ASIM, Jul 21

At the Farnborough International Airshow, Textron Aviation announced an agreement in coordination with prime contractor Ariegsa Manufacturing for ten new Cessna Skyhawk 172 aircraft destined for the Egyptian Aviation Academy (EAA).

Scheduled for delivery through 2027, the new piston fleet will drive EAA’s fleet modernization strategy—strengthening pilot training capabilities across the Middle East and Africa. Founded in 1932, the ICAO-recognized academy adds these Skyhawks to its existing lineup of Cessna Citation Mustangs, Beechcraft Barons, and Bonanzas.

“The Cessna 172 is the most popular single-engine aircraft in aviation history because it’s considered the ideal choice for pilot training. We’re honored to be part of advancing the future of flight with the Egyptian Aviation Academy.”

Bob Gibbs, VP of Special Missions Sales, Textron Aviation.

“The Cessna 172 provides cadets with the reliability, ease of flight, and advanced avionics necessary to meet international aviation standards.”

Capt. Ezzat Metwaly Ali, Chairman, Egyptian Aviation Academy.
