Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 8th edition of the Marrakech Airshow 2026 (running from October 7 to 10, 2026) has marked a historic leap forward for Morocco’s aeronautics, defense, and manufacturing ecosystem through landmark agreements and industrial investments:
- Africa Center of Manufacturing Excellence (ACME): A high-profile consortium agreement uniting the Moroccan government, UM6P, and global aerospace giants including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus, Safran Nacelles, OCP Group, and CETIM. Headquartered at UM6P’s Nouaceur site, ACME will act as a shared hub for advanced manufacturing technologies and industrial R&D.
- Royal Air Maroc Local Sourcing Framework: A strategic pact targeting up to 60% import substitution with competitive domestic offerings, reinforcing national industrial sovereignty and local value chains.
- Safran Oil Systems Expansion: A new MAD 160 million industrial project dedicated to high-precision aircraft engine oil and fluid management systems, generating 100 specialized jobs.
- Harmattan AI Partnerships: An investment agreement and a Letter of Intent focusing on the development of counter-drone technologies and a sovereign drone, creating 1,000 direct and indirect jobs to bolster national defense capabilities and autonomous systems.
