Alfor Aviation Selects Teesside for £50M Global HQ & Advanced Aircraft Conversion Campus at FIA26

ASIM, Jul 21

In a landmark move for British aerospace manufacturing, Alfor Aviation has announced a 50-year agreement with Teesside International Airport to establish its global headquarters and a state-of-the-art aircraft conversion center.

Backed by a £50 million investment, the campus will create 250 permanent high-skilled jobs and will be capable of converting up to 24 passenger aircraft into freighters annually by the end of 2027.

🔑 Key Strategic Highlights:

  • Revolutionary ILS Tech: Integrates Alfor’s breakthrough Internal Loading System (ILS), reducing passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion costs by ~40% without structural fuselage door cuts.
  • Teesside Freeport Advantage: Selected due to tax and customs incentives as part of the UK’s largest free trade zone.
  • Global Hub: Brings executive management, engineering, maintenance, and logistics under a single 50-year strategic site.

“We examined numerous locations across Europe for our long-term home, but nowhere matched what Teesside offers… The deciding factor was Teesside Freeport.”

Omer Mafa, CEO & Director, Alfor Aviation.
