The German Aerospace Center and the Canadian Conair Aerial Firefighting Group signed a MoU during ILA Berlin 2026

At #ILA Berlin 2026, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Canadian Conair Aerial Firefighting Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in aerial wildfire response.

As climate change increases the frequency and intensity of wildfires around the world, international collaboration and technological innovation in this field become ever more important. The partnership aims to advance next-generation solutions by combining expertise in aircraft, drones, Earth observation satellites, artificial intelligence and data-driven operations to support faster and more effective wildfire detection and response.

#Germany and #Canada each bring unique strengths to this collaboration. By combining cutting-edge research with advanced technologies and operational expertise, both countries are strengthening their ability to tackle real-world challenges while working together across borders to help protect lives, communities and ecosystems.

We are pleased to have helped lay the groundwork for this cooperation by bringing representatives from Conair and DLR together at one of our science events.
