Dubai Airshow 2025 proves the future is here with next-generation aerospace technology and historic orders

Dubai Airshow 2025 continued to fuel global aerospace growth during its second and third days, marked by landmark announcements, multi-billion-dollar deals, and groundbreaking innovations. New features and major fleet agreements underscored the event’s role as a transformative platform for the aviation sector. The show delivered pivotal moments that showcased the industry’s rapid evolution and highlighted Dubai’s central position in shaping the future of aerospace.

Airbus secured significant momentum, including flydubai’s first-ever order with the manufacturer: 150 A321neo aircraft with options for 100 more. Etihad Airways expanded its fleet with additional A330-900s, A350-1000s, and A350F freighters, while Emirates confirmed eight more A350-900 jets. New customers such as Ethiopian Airlines also placed major orders, and Airbus deepened partnerships with UAE entities like TII, Aspire, Strata, and Mubadala. Boeing also saw strong demand, with flydubai ordering 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and Gulf Air finalizing 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Additional leasing activity included FlySafair securing five Boeing 737 family aircraft.

EDGE Group used the Airshow to unveil 42 new air and space products—one of its most ambitious launches to date—while signing multiple international cooperation agreements, including partnerships with Korea Aerospace Industries, L3Harris Technologies, and Indonesia’s Republikorp, the latter resulting in a landmark US$7 billion contract. Tawazun Council announced 20 major defence contracts worth AED 18.016 billion, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its defence ecosystem, enabling industrial growth, and advancing technology localization.

A new highlight, Airshow After Dark, brought together industry professionals for networking and entertainment, featuring a striking illuminated drone show over the Dubai runway. Overall, Dubai Airshow 2025 welcomed more than 1,500 exhibitors, 440 first-time participants, and delegations from 115 countries, cementing its reputation as the global hub where the future of aerospace takes flight.
