Honeywell and Abu Dhabi Aviation have signed an agreement to enhance and accelerate maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations for AW139 helicopters equipped with Honeywell’s integrated Primus Epic avionics and other components. The collaboration aims to improve repair-logistics efficiency for operators in the UAE, reducing aircraft downtime and increasing fleet readiness across both military and civil aviation sectors.
Under the new arrangement, UAE operators will no longer need to ship components directly to Honeywell’s factories for repairs. Instead, Abu Dhabi Aviation will manage the entire MRO service chain—selecting the most suitable Honeywell repair facility, handling shipping, and overseeing all stages of the repair process. This localized and streamlined approach is expected to speed up turnaround times across the Middle East and Africa while maintaining Honeywell’s global service quality standards.
The AW139 is one of the region’s most widely used helicopters, supporting defense, civil aviation, and oil and gas operations. By strengthening their decade-long partnership, Honeywell and Abu Dhabi Aviation aim to boost fleet availability for customers in these vital sectors. The agreement, which runs through 2029, reinforces the companies’ shared commitment to advancing aviation capabilities and easing logistical burdens for operators in the region.
