Delta Air Lines has unveiled its 100th anniversary livery during its recent Centennial Gala, held on 15 March at the airline’s newly remodelled Delta Flight Museum.
Parked outside the museum, the specially painted Airbus A321neo was bathed in blue, purple and white lights, with projected graphics and images representing Delta’s century of service onto the fuselage. Former Delta logos were projected onto the side of the aircraft, while futuristic rippling shapes hinted at the shape of things yet to come.
Featuring “swooping details, a bold 100 emblem and first-ever silver supergraphic,” Delta’s Centennial livery “honours a century of innovation, resilience and the people who built Delta into the airline it is today,” said the carrier in a statement.
Over 1000 guests – including former CEOs Ron Allen, Leo Mullin and Richard Anderson, alongside Delta employees and retirees, sponsors and museum donors – joined Delta for its weekend event, the latest event in its centennial year. In January, Delta held the first of its celebratory events at the Sphere in Las Vegas, stating that as it embarked on a new year, it remained “committed to a bold vision that builds on [its] first century of excellence”.
