The Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems (AAUS) has launched its 2025 event. It’s one not to miss, with a focus on the automation of aircraft, new technology and emergency response. Held in association with Avalon 2025, the event’s theme is Sky-Tech 2025: Exploring the Future of Uncrewed Flight.
The two-day conference will showcase Australia’s sovereign capability and innovation of defence, as well as civilian drone applications in the air domain.
A recent report from Airservices Australia predicts the annual number of drone flights in Australian skies will surge from 1.5 million a year in 2023 to 60.4 million a year by 2043. Former Airservices CEO, Jason Harfield highlighted the need for cohesion in the industry.
“Airservices is building the technology foundations to support increasing drone and air taxi use in Australia, and key to that is collaboration between all stakeholders,” said Mr Harfield.
“Airservices’ no.1 priority is safety, and we look forward to working with industry, government and community to chart a course for next-generation technology in Australian skies.”
With a focus on the rapidly evolving state of autonomous systems and the future of uncrewed flight in Australia, the event is full of hot topics of discussion.
AAUS Sky-Tech 2025 will run from Monday 24 March at the RACV City Club in Melbourne and on Tuesday 25 March 2025 at the Avalon 2025 event site.
