ASIM, Oct 09
On Day 3 of Marrakech AirShow 2026, 3 MoUs were signed to establish CIMED, Consortium International et Marocain d’Électronique de Défense, bringing together complementary international and Moroccan expertise to develop advanced industrial capabilities in the Kingdom.
The initiative brings together :
– Melint, a Casablanca-based Moroccan integrator specializing in security and defense electronics
– Tonbo Imaging, an Indian company recognized for its expertise in night vision and electro-optical and infrared technologies
– DAT-CON, a Slovenian manufacturer specializing in thermal imaging and long-range surveillance systems.
Together, the partners aim to establish a shared industrial platform in Morocco. CIMED will progressively develop capabilities in maintenance, assembly, integration, testing and system upgrades, with local manufacturing as a longer-term ambition.
The consortium seeks to increase local content, develop highly qualified Moroccan talent and strengthen the Kingdom’s defense industrial ecosystem, while remaining open to additional complementary partners.
