The Togolese Armed Forces at AFRIDEX 2026

Togo’s armed forces cover a narrow strip of territory running from the Gulf of Guinea to the Sahel.

The Togolese Armed Forces comprise the Army, Navy, Air Force and National Gendarmerie, with responsibilities spanning territorial defence, security in the northern regions where the country borders the Sahel, protection of the Port of Lomé and a short but strategically significant coastline. The force has invested in unmanned aerial capability in recent years.

Organisations working in surveillance, unmanned systems, tactical mobility, communications, coastal patrol and sustainment will engage a force with active modernisation requirements.
