Every capability decision in Nigeria runs through the Ministry of Defence.

The Ministry sets policy, capability and procurement direction for the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and it is the host ministry behind AFRIDEX 2026. Its remit covers force modernisation, defence industrial development and coordination across the land, maritime, air, space and cyber domains.

Organisations working in technology transfer, local manufacturing and long term programme delivery will find no more direct route to Nigeria’s defence leadership.
