ASIM, Apr 22

Singapore is ramping up efforts to strengthen its aviation workforce pipeline, with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) launching new initiatives to fast-track training for aircraft maintenance professionals.

Backed by the S$200 million OneAviation Manpower Fund, the initiatives will include fast-track licensing for aircraft maintenance professionals and air traffic control officers, enhancement to workplace conditions at Changi Airport and Changi Airfreight Centre, alongside career development support for new entrants through a structured mentorship program.

These initiatives aim to meet the rising talent demands as Singapore’s aviation sector is expected to add up to 30% more jobs over the next five years, underscoring the need to scale skilled talent to support the region’s expanding aviation and MRO ecosystem.
