Finnair has selected the Embraer E195-E2 as part of its narrowbody fleet renewal, with an agreement for up to 46 aircraft (18 firm orders plus options and purchase rights), with deliveries starting in 2027.
This is particularly interesting because it shows how airlines are increasingly focusing on the right size aircraft to support network development, frequencies and connectivity. The E195-E2, with 134 seats, will support Finnair’s European network and growth strategy.
The aircraft was selected for its efficiency, reliability and passenger comfort, and is up to 35% more fuel efficient than the previous generation aircraft Finnair operated, supporting both economics and sustainability goals.
