ASIM, feb 23. As a platform for young talent to gain exposure to various aspects of aviation, an interactive day was planned for aspiring industry professionals during AeroCampus. The Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Space Camp Challenge, organized by Endeavour Foundation in collaboration with Science Centre Singapore, named eight Singaporean high school students and an educator as the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship’s “Mission Team #18” and “Mission Team #19” today. These exceptional winning teams will embark on a journey to Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, which presents hands-on activities, simulations, and learning experiences that will inspire and shape their futures.
Innovation Hangar Challenge, organized in collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, saw the champions Team Interdung receiving SGD 40,000 at the awards ceremony today. In second and third place were Team Skyway from China and Team LIPAD from the Philippines. STEM Workshops and Ambassador Programmes offered by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and multinational corporations including Bell, Pratt & Whitney, and Thales gave visitors a preview of what it is like to work within aerospace and defence. A close-up look at the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engine gave visitors a view of the complexity and science behind the aerospace engine, sparking interest among aspiring young aviation talent.
