Embraer will celebrate its 55th anniversary on August 19, inspired by a history marked by excellence in the development of people and products, as well as significant contributions to the aeronautical industry. With nine thousand aircraft produced and delivered to more than 100 countries and a modern portfolio of products, the company has currently registered over 800 patents. These, together with several other initiatives, drive the virtuous cycle of continuous innovation capable of transforming knowledge into industrial activity with high-added value.

In 2024, Embraer has been executing its plan to meet the aircraft production ramp-up and future growth expected with investments, which includes research and development activities for new technologies.
History
The development of Brazil’s aeronautics industry began in the 1930s, but it was the establishment of the Aeronautics Technical Center (CTA) and the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) in the 1940s that solidified its foundation, emphasizing engineer training and technological advancement. Embraer, created in 1969 as a state-controlled mixed-capital company, played a pivotal role in transforming science and technology into industrial capacity. Under the leadership of engineer Ozires Silva, the company successfully produced the EMB-110 Bandeirante aircraft and expanded its operations to manufacture military jets and crop-dusters, significantly contributing to national integration and regional aviation.
Throughout the following decades, Embraer expanded internationally, innovating in military, commercial, and executive aviation. After a period of financial difficulty in the early 1990s, it was privatized and swiftly regained its position as a leader in regional aviation with the ERJ-145 jets. By the 2000s, Embraer had established itself as a global player, producing successful commercial and executive aircraft, such as the E-Jets and Legacy jets, and developing groundbreaking defense products like the EMB-314 Super Tucano. Today, Embraer continues to innovate in sustainable aviation, leading projects like the EVE Urban Air Mobility ecosystem, while maintaining a strong international presence with over 19,000 employees and a backlog valued at $21.1 billion.
