Archer’s vision is to offer passengers a faster, sustainable alternative to ground transportation by utilizing its electric aircraft, Midnight, for short flights between key locations in Los Angeles. The plan involves establishing vertiports at major locations like LAX, Hollywood Burbank, and Santa Monica, allowing passengers to bypass heavy traffic for quick 10-20 minute flights. Archer is also collaborating with the Los Angeles Rams on exclusive vertiports at Hollywood Park and Woodland Hills, and with USC to convert existing heliports for its aircraft. These efforts aim to create a comprehensive air mobility network ahead of major global events in the region over the next few years.
Midnight, Archer’s piloted, four-passenger aircraft, is designed for sustainable, low-noise air travel at speeds up to 150 mph, transforming hour-long commutes into minutes. It can fly up to 50 miles with minimal charge time and is 100 times quieter than helicopters at cruising altitudes, offering safety levels comparable to commercial airliners. Governor Gavin Newsom praised Archer for leading the next generation of zero-emission transportation, while the LA Rams see this technology as a way to enhance guest experiences at Hollywood Park, promoting innovation and reducing traffic in the region.
