BAE Systems has been chosen by Boeing to upgrade the fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control computers (FCC) for the F-15EX Eagle II and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter jets. The upgrades will enhance processing power, improve cyber and product security, and address obsolescence, ensuring the systems’ reliability and performance for future missions. The F/A-18E/F will also receive an additional processor to enable new capabilities, leveraging BAE Systems’ advanced flight-critical solutions.
As the original manufacturer of these FCCs, BAE Systems will modernize the hardware and software, drawing on its extensive experience in high-integrity flight control technology. These upgrades will allow the aircraft to maintain fleet readiness, support new functions, and ensure controlled operation even in challenging conditions. The work will be carried out at BAE Systems’ advanced facility in Endicott, New York.
