Lockheed Martin Delivers 2,700th C-130 Hercules Tactical Airlifter

Lockheed Martin recently delivered the 2,700th Hercules multi-mission tactical airlifter, a KC-130J Super Hercules tanker, to the U.S. Marine Corps Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 252 in North Carolina. This milestone underscores the C-130 fleet’s extensive global reach and versatility, with operators in 70 nations utilizing the aircraft for diverse missions. The C-130J Super Hercules, the latest production model, is certified for 18 different mission requirements, highlighting its adaptability and continued relevance in tactical airlift operations.

The KC-130J, a global standard for tactical tankers, supports a wide range of aircraft, including the F-35B/C Lightning II fighters. It excels in refueling helicopters at slow speeds and low altitudes, making it a vital asset for military operations. The C-130J fleet, operated by 26 entities across 22 countries, has accumulated nearly 3 million flight hours, providing invaluable insights for future missions.
