Component Operations Building Jacksonville

ASIM, aug 14

Pond was commissioned by Scannell Properties to design a 155,000-square-foot facility for The Boeing Company at Cecil Airport in Jacksonville, Florida, dedicated to inspecting and repairing aviation components. This $45 million facility enhances Boeing’s existing Jacksonville complex, located near their 370,000-square-foot maintenance and overhaul hangar, also designed by Pond and opened earlier this year.

The facility includes administrative offices, training rooms, specialized paint and sanding booths, a machine shop, and large loading facilities. Built with concrete tilt panels, metal wall panels, and a curtain wall entrance that allows natural light into the main lobby, the project was completed on time. Pond adapted the design during construction to accommodate Boeing’s evolving needs, ensuring flexibility and functionality.
