Japan Coast Guard adds 3 H225s

ASIM, apr22

The Japan Coast Guard (JCG) has expanded its H225 fleet with an additional order for three helicopters, bringing the total number of H225s in its fleet to 18. As the largest Super Puma operator in Japan, the JCG received three H225s in December 2023 and one in February 2024 to bolster its growing fleet. These new helicopters will play a crucial role in supporting territorial coastal activities, maritime law enforcement, and disaster relief missions across the country.

Jean-Luc Alfonsi, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Japan, highlighted the significance of this follow-on order, underscoring the JCG’s confidence in Airbus products and the company’s commitment to delivering dedicated support to their fleet. With its versatility in all weather conditions, the H225 is well-suited for JCG’s critical missions, including law enforcement, coastal protection, and island surveillance. Airbus will continue to provide comprehensive support through its HCare Smart full-by-the-hour material support programme, ensuring high availability for the JCG’s operations while Airbus manages its assets.
