Embraer Defense & Security and ST Engineering are poised to explore collaboration avenues in engineering, maintenance, and support services for the C-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft across the Asia Pacific region. This partnership extends beyond aircraft-related domains to encompass radar and land systems, C4ISTAR, border security, simulation, and advanced production methodologies, reinforcing ST Engineering’s capabilities in South America. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), inked during the 2024 Singapore Airshow, lays the foundation for this collaboration, with Embraer Defense & Security President and CEO Bosco da Costa Junior emphasizing the alignment of ST Engineering’s defense and MRO expertise with Embraer’s integrated solutions.
The C-390 Millennium stands out for its superior payload capacity (26 tons), speed (470 knots), and range, making it ideal for various missions, including cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian endeavors, even on challenging terrains. With a track record of over 11,500 flight hours, operational availability of around 80%, and mission completion rates surpassing 99%, the aircraft underscores exceptional productivity in its category. ST Engineering’s defense capabilities, ranging from aircraft engineering and avionics upgrades to battlefield mobility platforms and naval vessels, complement its role as an authorized service center for multiple OEMs, offering comprehensive maintenance support and solutions for global customers.
