RTX’s Collins Aerospace to provide Malaysia Airlines with new avionics and systems support

At the 2024 Singapore Air Show, Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) finalized an avionics hardware and support agreement with Collins Aerospace, a business under RTX (NYSE: RTX), for its fleet of 737-8 aircraft. Under this agreement, Collins Aerospace will provide critical communications, navigation, surveillance systems, and air data sensors, supported by their Dispatchsm solution, offering comprehensive maintenance, asset management, and logistical support. Craig Bries, Vice President and General Manager of Avionics Sales, Marketing, and Aftermarket Services at Collins Aerospace, highlighted the reliability and efficiency benefits these navigation and guidance solutions will bring to MAB’s fleet, complemented by the global spares pool and technical assistance available through the Dispatch maintenance program.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group, emphasized the importance of maintaining the narrowbody fleet’s efficiency and reliability to support connectivity to key markets amidst increasing travel demand. By partnering with Collins Aerospace and leveraging their expertise and capabilities, MAB aims to ensure the necessary maintenance support for their aircraft, facilitating more predictable operations and enhancing overall fleet performance.
