Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Lilium sign MoU to collaborate on development and implementation of eVTOL regulation in the Kingdom

The Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and Lilium N.V. signed a memorandum of understanding at the Farnborough International Airshow to develop regulations for eVTOL operations in Saudi Arabia by 2026. The collaboration will begin with a joint Working Group focusing on infrastructure, air operations, airworthiness, and airspace integration, with Lilium supporting GACA in creating a regulatory framework for regional electric air mobility.

Saudi Arabia’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Roadmap reflects its commitment to integrating eVTOL technology into its transportation system. Lilium, with its extensive experience in regulatory development through participation in various international aviation working groups, will collaborate closely with GACA. This partnership aims to establish a robust regulatory environment that ensures safe and efficient eVTOL operations, supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and advancing sustainable air mobility solutions in the region.
