Major General Piek Budyakto, Director General of Defence Potential at Indonesia’s Ministry of Defence, led a technical meeting at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, in preparation for the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum. This international event, set to take place from November 6-9, 2024, is one of the world’s leading defence industry exhibitions. The meeting, attended by high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Managing Director of PT Napindo Media Ashatama, emphasized the importance of presenting a strong image of Indonesia as the host and showcasing the nation’s commitment to organizing a successful event.
The Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum will be held alongside the Indo Aerospace and Indo Marine exhibitions, highlighting Indonesia’s presence in the global defence arena. The event is expected to attract over 1,000 companies from 60 countries and draw approximately 40,000 visitors. The theme “Defence Partnerships For Global Peace And Stability” reflects the event’s focus on advancing national defence capabilities and fostering international cooperation. The organizers hope that the exhibition will be inaugurated by Indonesia’s newly elected President and the new Minister of Defence, marking a significant moment during the government transition.
Indo Defence has grown significantly since its inception in 2004, serving as a strategic platform for local and international companies to showcase their latest defence products and technologies. This year’s event aims to facilitate smooth transactions and effective communication between industry stakeholders, further strengthening Indonesia’s position as a competitive player on the global stage. The exhibition will occupy 55,000 m² and include 35 national pavilions, reinforcing its status as a premier event in the defence industry.
