Maritime Energy Heli Air Services Pvt Ltd (MEHAIR), India’s premier seaplane company, has ordered Fifty (50) ME-1A Amphibious aircraft from US based Mallard Enterprises

MEHAIR has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mallard Enterprises to acquire fifty ME-1A Amphibious Aircraft, announced at the Farnborough Airshow. As pioneers in seaplane services in India since 2011, MEHAIR is transitioning towards green aviation to align with sustainable technologies for the rapidly growing aviation market. Amphibious aircraft can operate on both land and water, opening new destinations and enhancing connectivity. This move is part of MEHAIR’s commitment to the Indian government’s UDAN initiative, aiming to provide last-mile connectivity and promote a robust amphibious seaplane industry in India.

The ME-1A is a regional amphibious aircraft with a capacity of up to 19 passengers, offering low emissions, low noise pollution, fast speeds, and low operating costs. It has a range of over 350 nautical miles with a full passenger load and 980 nautical miles in a VIP configuration. Dan Peabody, CEO of Mallard Enterprises, expressed satisfaction in collaborating with MEHAIR to grow the seaplane industry in India, citing the ME-1A’s competitive economics and green credentials. Mohan Chunduri, COO of Mallard Enterprises, emphasized their shared vision to expand seaplane services across India, leveraging the ME-1A’s capabilities.
