Astronautics’ AeroSync Max Selected for New Airbus H160M

ASIM, jul 20

Astronautics Corporation of America’s AeroSync Max wireless airborne communication system (wACS) has been chosen as the line-fit connectivity solution for Airbus’ new H160M helicopter, a military variant of the commercial H160. This decision follows a December 2021 contract between the French Armament General Directorate and Airbus for the H160M under the Light Joint Helicopter program. The AeroSync Max, already certified by the FAA and EASA for the H160, provides secure, partitioned connectivity between the helicopter’s avionics and external systems. Astronautics will supply Airbus with 140 shipsets and cybersecurity services for ongoing vulnerability assessments.

Each AeroSync Max shipset includes an AFS6400 airborne communication server, AFS6460 connectivity module, and AFS6480 remote media device, creating an integrated wireless data transmission system. This system enables secure transfer of maintenance data via Wi-Fi, streamlining software uploads, navigation database updates, and airworthiness data transfer to maintenance systems. It interfaces with the H160M’s advanced cockpit avionics suite, enhancing operational efficiency and security. Astronautics’ AeroSync solutions are also used in other Airbus helicopter platforms like the H145, H125, and H130.
