Rolls-Royce has successfully secured funding from Phase 2 of the UK Space Agency International Bilateral Fund (IBF), facilitating strategic research partnerships between the UK space sector and emerging space nations. This new £1.18 million award supports collaboration aimed at identifying and advancing optimal technologies for a fission nuclear system, benefiting both UK and U.S. space nuclear development programs across various space power missions. Rolls-Royce is partnering with U.S. firm @BWXTechnologies (BWXT) to execute this phase of development.
