The recent order stands out as one of the largest agreements announced at the ongoing Singapore Airshow 2024 and signifies Vietjet’s most significant acquisition of widebody aircraft to date. These planes are slated for deployment on the airline’s expanding long-range routes and high-capacity regional services, marking a transition from their current leased A330-300 fleet while accommodating network expansion plans.

Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus’s Commercial Aircraft Business, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Vietjet on their ambitious expansion phase, highlighting the A330neo’s potential to optimize operational costs per seat and enhance value for passengers across varied destinations. Vietjet’s CEO, Dinh Viet Phuong, emphasized the strategic importance of integrating the A330neo into their fleet, aligning with their sustainability objectives and offering passengers extended range, superior amenities, and competitive fares.

The A330neo boasts the acclaimed Airspace cabin, renowned for providing passengers with a premium travel experience characterized by increased personal space, enhanced storage options, modern lighting, and access to cutting-edge entertainment and connectivity systems. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, the A330-900 can achieve non-stop flights of up to 7,200 nm/13,300 km, contributing to Vietjet’s expansion plans and commitment to modernizing its fleet to meet growing demand.
