The Singapore Airshow 2024 achieved a record-breaking economic impact of over S$391 million, marking the highest contribution in the event’s history. This significant increase, from S$132 million in 2022, emphasizes the growing importance of the airshow as a global platform for the aerospace and defense industries. After a six-year hiatus due to COVID-19 disruptions, the event attracted more than 110,000 attendees, showcasing its revival and relevance in the international aerospace landscape.

Organized by Experia Events, the airshow commissioned a study by Kadence International to assess its economic impact. The research indicated that spending spanned various sectors, including international travel, accommodation, exhibition space, and food and beverage services. Notably, foreign spending comprised a substantial share of the total, illustrating the airshow’s success in drawing international participants and enhancing Singapore’s status as a hub for aerospace connections in Asia.

Mr. Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia, highlighted the airshow’s evolving role in addressing industry trends, particularly regarding sustainability in aviation. He expressed pride in the event’s record contribution to Singapore’s economy, emphasizing its commitment to fostering innovations that promote a greener future in aerospace. This year’s success reinforces Singapore’s positioning as a leader in the industry while aligning with global sustainability goals.

Looking ahead, the next Singapore Airshow is scheduled for February 2026 at the Changi Exhibition Centre. Mr. Leck noted plans to further integrate sustainable practices into the event, ensuring it remains at the forefront of industry developments. This forward-thinking approach aims to foster meaningful contributions to both Singapore’s economy and the broader global aerospace ecosystem.
