We (Roll-Royce) provide the vertical lift for the F-35B Lightning II with our unique LiftSystem®, the only vertical lift technology for fighter jets currently in production. This system boasts exceptional performance thanks to cutting-edge digital control and fan technology, offering precise, powerful short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) capabilities with minimal impact on airframe weight. Derived from the Pegasus engine, the LiftSystem includes the Rolls-Royce LiftFan®, Driveshaft, 3 Bearing Swivel Module (3BSM), and Roll Posts. Rolls-Royce has been at the forefront of STOVL technology for 60 years.
