The official opening ceremony of AAD2022, Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Thandi Modise has expressed her satisfaction with the return of the African Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition to Tshwane and South Africa. Emphasizing AAD’s significance as one of the world’s top six defense exhibitions and air shows in terms of scale and scope, she highlighted its substantial contribution to the economy. With 200 exhibitors from 24 countries across nine national pavilions, including Turkey as the largest contributor with 25 companies, the event underscores the continued strength of the local defense industry, with 70% of exhibitors being South African.
