JEKTA, a Swiss developer of the zero-emissions PHA-ZE 100 amphibious aircraft, has secured its first lessor agreement with Solyu, a Seoul-based company focused on sustainable aviation. The deal, involving 30 aircraft, pushes JEKTA’s order commitments beyond US$1 billion. Solyu will offer leasing and financial solutions to operators seeking to use the PHA-ZE 100’s sustainable features, marking the aircraft as the first amphibious model in Solyu’s portfolio, catering to regional advanced air mobility.
Solyu’s CEO, Andrew Claerbout, highlights the aircraft’s low operating costs, flexible configurations, and minimal infrastructure requirements, which make it appealing for operators aiming to reduce carbon emissions. The PHA-ZE 100’s hydrogen and electric variants are expected to attract strong interest. JEKTA’s CEO, George Alafinov, emphasized the market potential for zero-emissions amphibious aircraft, noting that leasing companies like Solyu play a vital role in offering financial flexibility for expanding fleets and networks, particularly in areas currently disconnected by water.
This agreement is a significant achievement for JEKTA, which launched in December 2022. The PHA-ZE 100’s ability to operate seamlessly between land and water without additional infrastructure makes it ideal for coastal and island communities, as well as regional routes. Certified to EASA and FAA standards, the aircraft’s versatile cabin configurations, including passenger, cargo, and medical transport options, provide operators with a sustainable and cost-effective solution for expanding their services.
