ASIM, jul 24

GE Aerospace announced that EVA Air has ordered GEnx engines to power their recently acquired Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft. Russell Stokes, President and CEO of GE Aerospace’s Commercial Engines and Services, expressed enthusiasm for EVA’s choice, highlighting the GEnx engine’s superior economic and operational performance. Since its introduction in 2011, the GEnx engine family has logged over 56 million flight hours and is GE’s fastest-selling high-thrust engine, with nearly 3,000 units in service or on backlog.

EVA Air, which currently operates 15 GEnx-powered Boeing 787s, praised the engine’s fuel efficiency, performance, and reliability. The additional engines will support EVA’s fleet expansion and growing route schedule. The GEnx-1B engine powers two-thirds of all 787 aircraft in operation, featuring advanced materials and design techniques, and can operate on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blends. EVA, established in 1989, operates a global fleet powered by several GE engines, including the GEnx, GE90, and CFM56 engines, the latter a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
