Global Sky has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VoltAero for a pre-order of 15 Cassio aircraft, positioning itself as a potential launch customer for VoltAero’s electric-hybrid airplanes in Southeast Asia. Announced at the Farnborough International Airshow, the agreement sets the stage for collaboration on integrating Cassio into the region’s air mobility network. This includes defining operational routes, ensuring airport compatibility, establishing recharging infrastructure, and developing a distribution network.
VoltAero’s Cassio aircraft will be available in three versions—Cassio 330, Cassio 480, and Cassio 600—each incorporating VoltAero’s innovative electric-hybrid propulsion system. This system combines an electric motor for primary flight and a hybrid engine as a range extender, offering a higher performance and lower operational costs compared to current aircraft. Global Sky’s partnership with VoltAero aims to meet the growing regional demand for sustainable aviation solutions, enhancing Southeast Asia’s regional air mobility infrastructure.
