ASIM, jun 29

The Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) is a critical partnership uniting the UK, Italy, and Japan, along with their leading industries—BAE Systems, Leonardo, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries—to develop a next-generation combat aircraft by 2035. Building on the UK’s Team Tempest partnership’s progress since 2018, GCAP leverages the expertise of BAE Systems and other key players to advance future combat air system capabilities. This program is vital for the security, political stability, and economic prosperity of the participating nations, fostering knowledge sharing and technology transfer to ensure the evolution of sovereign combat air capabilities for Italy, Japan, and the UK.
