The 22nd edition of the International Air and Space Fair, FIDAE, concluded with resounding success, surpassing the organization’s expectations following the cancellation of the event in 2020 due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. With over 420 exhibitors from more than 45 countries, along with over 200 official and professional delegations, and over a thousand accredited journalists and spotters, the fair solidified its position as Latin America’s premier Aerospace, Defense, and Security Exhibition. Across six days of exhibition, attendees witnessed the latest advancements in Civil-Commercial Aviation, Defense, Airport Equipment and Services, Homeland Security, Aircraft Maintenance, and Space Technology, with new additions such as UAVs and Cybersecurity sectors making their debut.

Colonel of Aviation (Ret.) Francisco Ramírez, Executive Director of FIDAE 2022, emphasized the fair’s success, stating, “We are very pleased and proud of the results achieved in this 22nd edition, with the presence of families demonstrating the affection they have for FIDAE. Despite the obstacles posed by the pandemic, it is evident the professional capacity of the Chilean Air Force to present a world-class event to thousands of people.” During the weekend dedicated to the Air Show, all tickets for the spectacles featuring units from the Chilean Air Force Presentation Group, the Brazilian Air Force Smoke Squadron, the USAF’s F-22 Raptor, and various other aircraft were sold out, alongside those for the Technological Fair of the Chilean Air Force, further underlining the event’s popularity and significance. As the International Air and Space Fair, organized by the Chilean Air Force and supported by the State of Chile, concludes a successful edition, it reaffirms its importance for national development, fostering aerospace awareness, and bridging the gap between the institution and the public.
