Thomas Global Systems has received FAA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for its TFD-4100 CRT-to-LCD flight display upgrade, designed for Collins Aerospace Pro Line 4 flight decks. This approval applies to aircraft models such as the Bombardier Challenger 604, Gulfstream G100/G200, Dassault Falcon 2000/2000EX/50EX, and Saab 2000. The TFD-4100 upgrade allows aircraft owners and operators to replace outdated CRT displays with advanced LCD technology without requiring a full cockpit retrofit or extended aircraft downtime.
David Barnes, Senior Vice President at Thomas Global Systems, emphasized that the FAA certification reflects the company’s dedication to supporting Pro Line 4 flight decks long-term. As the production and support for EFD-4077 CRT displays end, the TFD-4100 provides a solution that improves reliability and efficiency, enabling users to maintain their current Pro Line 4 configurations without disrupting flight operations.
Industry leaders like Stuart Klaskin of Jetstream Aviation Capital and John Holland of Trimec Aviation have recognized the importance of the TFD-4100 in addressing CRT obsolescence. The TFD-4100 not only extends the life of existing Pro Line 4 systems but also offers the benefits of modern LCD technology with minimal disruption, making it an essential upgrade for fleets relying on these avionics.
The TFD-4100, which builds on Thomas Global’s successful technology in various aircraft, replaces key components of the EFD-4077 with high-performance AMLCD technology. It integrates seamlessly into the existing Pro Line 4 architecture, offering a practical, drop-in replacement that supports continued aircraft operation without requiring major changes to the cockpit setup.
