EasyJet has finalized an agreement to acquire the SR Technics Group maintenance facility in Malta. This acquisition will enable easyJet to perform heavy maintenance on its expanding fleet of over 340 aircraft at the facility. The more than 400 employees currently based at the site have now become part of the easyJet team. The handover was marked by a ceremony attended by easyJet’s leadership and the Prime Minister of Malta, Dr. Robert Abela. Additionally, as part of its ongoing expansion in Malta, easyJet has announced a new route to Liverpool and a 30% increase in flights to and from Malta this summer, offering 10 routes and serving 400,000 customers annually.
Daniel Galea, Managing Director for easyJet Engineering Malta, expressed enthusiasm about the transition, noting the significant growth and achievements under SR Technics’ ownership. He conveyed confidence that easyJet will continue to build on this success, thanking stakeholders, employees, and customers for their support. Galea emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards and excellence as they embark on this new chapter with easyJet.
