The first GE9X engine has been delivered to Boeing after a journey spanning over 2,400 miles (3,800 kilometers), marking the start of a new chapter in commercial aviation.
Designed to power the new 777-9, the GE9X incorporates advanced technologies such as carbon fiber composites, Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs), and additive manufacturing. It offers up to 10% better fuel efficiency compared to the GE90-115B and boasts the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger in its category, with NOx emissions 40% lower than any other competing engine. The GE9X is now prepared to fuel new adventures and connect people worldwide.
