Rolls-Royce has awarded Castle Precision Engineering, a Glasgow-based firm, an £85 million contract to manufacture and supply precision machined aero engine parts. This agreement extends their 40-year partnership and will last until the latter half of the decade. The contract, endorsed by the UK Government’s Scottish Secretary, recognizes Castle Precision’s longstanding contribution to Rolls-Royce’s Civil Aerospace, Defence, and Business Aviation programs. Secretary of State for Scotland, Ian Murray, praised the contract as a testament to Scotland’s leading role in aerospace engineering.
Jon Barsby of Rolls-Royce emphasized the company’s commitment to the UK supply chain and highlighted Castle Precision’s consistent quality and innovation. Yan Tiefenbrun of Castle Precision noted that this contract is the largest in the company’s 73-year history, reflecting growth and stability following the pandemic. The precision components produced will be used in various Rolls-Royce engines, including the Trent, Pearl, and EJ200 engines, showcasing Castle Precision’s role in high-precision manufacturing for aerospace and other industries.
